Rachel Newton

Much in demand as a collaborator, as a solo artist and with her band, Rachel Newton has had a busy few years since being acknowledge as Musician Of The Year (BBC Radio Folk Awards 2017) and Instrumentalist of the Year 2016 at the Scots Trad Music Awards. In the past year, she has focused on her bold new electro-harp project, released as an album in Nov 2020, but she relishes the opportunity to strip things back to basics and take to the road, just her and her acoustic harp. An easy show to produce – Rachel turns up with her harp and performs from a rich canon of Gaelic and English-language ballads. Moving, engaging and exquisite in equal measure.

She is looking to perform at venues around Scotland in this format between 20th and 30th September 2021, though she is available for other performance options throughout 2020 and 2021.
