Through my research I became fascinated by Macready and his story is one I feel driven to tell. Not only was Macready best friends with Charles Dickens and fierce rival to Edmund Kean, he also did so much to shape the theatre of today. The show is full of drama, humour, and emotion, and would appeal to those interested in theatre, showbusiness, history, the Victorian period, and/or a true – but little-known – story, passionately and faithfully told.
