The Traveling Tent Show - Spring Roam

Taking inspiration from the tent shows that roamed the American south in the 1930s, Nicole Smit (Blueswater, Queens of the Blues) and The Tenement Jazz Band (Best Band, Scottish Jazz Awards 2022) have banded together to re-envision the format for the European North in the 21st century. Enlisting special guests, Kat Brooks (The Phoenix Choir), Mike Kearney (The Katet) and Vid Gobac (Greyfriars Society Orchestra, Kultura) to complete the team, the show immerses the audience in the spirit of joyous entertainment.

Playing with a repertoire of popular music from an era before the jazz & blues genres were defined, this show is not a museum piece; it is a space where performers and audiences are joined together in a lot of music, a fair bit of dancing and a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek.

As its inspiration suggests, the show will travel far and wide to spread the joy, first and foremost to the formidable audiences in the Scottish west coast!
