‘Pirate’s Island’ is an interactive outdoor Walking Theatre Company adaption of the classic tale, ‘Treasure Island’. Pirates of all sizes are invited to join our intrepid adventure across the Pirate’s Island, to help find the buried treasure, and escape from Long John Silver! A perfect show for all ages, offering the opportunity to play as a pirate in the great outdoors.
Prospero’s Dream
A tale of magic and mystic curses,
Shakespeare’s Tempestuous bardic verses.
Shipwrecked souls captured by Prospero,
On an isle of spirits where the wild winds blow.
‘Prospero’s Way’ is an interactive, outdoor Walking Theatre Company adaptation of the Shakespeare classic, ‘The Tempest’. In this classic tale of duty, passion, ego and a young girls awakening, night verses day, heaven verses earth, and magic runs riot.
TWTC’s team of actors will lead your audiences on a theatre walk through your community place. The Show takes part with and around the audience as they become involved in the action. Gently interactive, we encourage the audience to get involved and play as little or as much as they want to. Our work is specifically created to reflect and respond to any environment, indoors and out, we make your spaces become our stage and the audience can become players too. Our actors are trained to skillfully work in and around the audience, walks can be undertaken by any ages, and can cover any ground. We work with you to get the best route that is right for you. Propero’s Walk is suitable for all ages, and is a great introduction to Shakespeare.
With 15 years of outdoor theatre delivery we are Scotland’s original Walking Theatre Company. Working with potential COVID constraints for touring in 2021, we have adapted our show model to be flexible and responsive to conditions which may need to be implemented.
The two models are;
a) Traditional Walking theatre, where the actors lead a ‘group’ audience on a theatre walk. This model requires an acting team of 3.
b) Staggered entry times, so smaller groups can experience the show, safely ‘apart’. This model requires an acting team of 4
Whatever the model, our show will begin at a designated ‘start’ point as agreed. This will be a point where audience can be collected, and from where the walk will start.
TWTC have adapted our work to ensure we are able to perform with any COVID restrictions in place (barring complete lockdown). Our work is flexible, and will remain high-impact on your audiences, whilst remaining COVID-compliant.
Our COVID-safe Walking Theatre delivery is based on delivering one show, with three staggered audience entrance times, accommodating COVID restrictions, based upon max 30 audience members per shot, which is based on .GOV, outdoor gathering guidelines for 2020, we can of course adapt this, and take group numbers up, or down accordingly, eg: Staggered Groups of 10.
We advise events are ticketed in advance to manage numbers and comply with given COVID guidelines, if in a public space, eg parks or streets, stewards can accompany the performance to ensure non-ticket holders do not join if required.
