Sex Education Xplorers (S.E.X.) by Mamoru Iriguchi is a critically acclaimed and widely loved production for everyone aged 12+ that celebrates our diverse gender identities and sexualities. It is a time-travel ride through evolution of sexes, and a playful new take on sex education. Packed with 1980s pop hits, humour, DIY props, costume & video, it also shares intersectional lived experiences from its LGBTQIA+ creative team. It is an eye-opening experience for everyone who missed the sex education they deserved at school. Originally made with teenagers in mind the show welcomes all people aged 12 and over, including LGBTQIA+ people, and contemporary theatre goers. S.E.X. takes the form of a senior school sex education lecture and treats the audience as if they are all 14-year-olds.

PRESENTATION For this proposed tour, this one act, 50-minute performance will be presented alongside a “second act” that is curated in collaboration with venue progammers, their staff teams, and or the local communities. Our team is particularly interested in identifying Young Promoter/Curator schemes like those developed by North East Arts Touring (NEAT) to curate what this might look like in each location. Examples of this might be: – Round table discussion with LGBT+ young people and/or local MSPs – Q&A discussion – Post show workshop – Zine making workshop – Something completely different based on the interests of the local community
