Ivory Cutlery

Ivory Cutlery is a multimedia, 50-minute performance celebrating Ivor Cutler’s playful imagination and his ability to find wonder in ordinary moments. It invites audiences to reconnect with curiosity, humour, and the beauty of the everyday.

The performance features many of Cutler’s songs, explored through playful forms including step dance, body percussion, and choreographed British Sign Language (BSL) signed song. Evie Waddell is a deaf / hard-of-hearing artist who performs using both voice and BSL.

Some performances of Ivory Cutlery include a performance interpreter and are advertised as fully BSL accessible. Other performances are presented primarily for hearing audiences, while still incorporating significant signed song and visual storytelling.
