TMSA Scotland

The TMSA encourages both widespread popular participation and individual artistic excellence. Its branches provide opportunities for participation (as performer and audience) for people of all ages and abilities by running festivals, ceilidhs, concerts, workshops, tours and competitions.

The TMSA also organises projects like its annual Young Trad Tour, which organises the finalists of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition into a ‘supergroup’ who tour venues in Scotland throughout the year, visiting the hometowns of each of the band members.

Currently the TMSA is running a project titled ‘Grow Your Own Music Session’, aimed at helping young people to start up traditional music sessions in their local communities.
